Attorney Julio Cantre

Julio Cantre is a Senior Associate Attorney at Mitchell S. Sexner & Associates LLC and a highly skilled litigator with years of experience in both criminal and traffic matters. Over the course of his remarkable career, he has handled a wide variety of cases ranging from Suspended License and DUIs to very serious criminal offenses such as Aggravated Battery and Felony Theft.

A lifelong sports fan, Mr. Cantre graduated from Hunter College of the City University of New York with a B.A. in English Literature and then earned his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in New York, all while serving prestigious internships with the Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division and with the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York.

Attorney Cantre also spent two decades as a corporate communications and public relations executive, serving primarily biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies, which provided him with an outstanding foundation in written and oral advocacy, client service, and strategic counsel.

Before coming to work for Sexner & Associates LLC, Mr. Cantre learned the inner workings of the criminal justice system as an Assistant State’s Attorney prosecuting a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony matters in Illinois. A winning litigator with a reputation for always being prepared, his work ethic and professionalism were rewarded with rapid promotions through the Misdemeanor, Felony Review and Criminal Felony Divisions.

This experience allowed him to sharpen his legal skills before turning his considerable talents towards defending those accused of both criminal and traffic violations. Attorney Cantre practices in most of Northeastern Illinois including the counties of Cook, Lake, Kane, DuPage, Will and McHenry. He is not only licensed to practice law in Illinois, but has also passed the rigorous California Bar exam as well.
